Use Public Selling Forums Carefully

Business is booming in certain parts of Wales, England and Britain. Much of the success or small businesses comes from online sales. Individuals are getting in on the profits as well. The lure of online profitability is too great for many residents of the U.K. to pass up. You can achieve free advertising through Google search engines, or make your products available to a large customer base by using Ebay and Craigslist. However, anyone who is interested in tapping into the online market should be careful.

Over the past couple of years, Craigslist has increasingly become a scam artist’s haven. There are countless opportunities for scammers to lure individuals into their web of lies. Craigslist is rife with Ponzi and Pyramid Schemes. You can often find stay-at-home jobs which are actually fraudulent. Worse yet, the personals section is full of people who only wish to lure someone in with love, and then profit off of them financially. The news is full of stories of people who answer love ads and invest thousands into the person they care for. Weeks later that person disappeared without a trace, money in hand.

As a general rule, if you are buying goods on Craigslist, make sure that you meet the person in a safe location. Public places work best, and if they are not willing to meet you at one, cut off contact immediately. Also, never meet a stranger alone; take a friend or family member with you to oversee the monetary transaction for goods or services.
